Lutheran Youth WNY is a Social Youth Ministry within the Western New York Region. Our mission as a non-profit organization rooted in the Lutheran faith is to live and share the gospel messages of love, joy, and service to others as a community. The aim of LYWNY is to create a vibrant and inclusive community that serves and supports youth in grades 3 through 12 and into young adulthood. We seek to do this by providing ministries which foster personal and spiritual growth. We serve our youth and the wider community through meaningful events, programs, and service projects which reflect the teachings of Jesus Christ. Our programs, events, and service projects are both youth-centric and designed to meet one or more of our primary objectives:

• To get youth in community with one another.

• To get youth involved in their communities.

• To reach youth external to the church community and connect youth internally.

• To find enriching places, spaces, and activities for youth involvement.

LOVE: We believe in the transformative power of Love. We aim to exhibit and promote Christ’s love by nurturing deep connections, empathy, and compassion among our youth.

COMMUNITY: We believe in togetherness. We make an effort to bring youth into communities where they can experience community. Through fostering a sense of belonging, we cultivate a strong sense of Community where everyone is valued, heard, and included. 

 

ACTION: Our commitment to Action is rooted in the Gospel message that faith is best lived out through service to others. We empower our youth to be Christ-like and make a positive impact on the world around them, with a sense of purpose and responsibility.

 

SUPPORT: Support is at the heart of our ministry. We provide insights, personnel assistance, and aim to build meaningful relationships with youth leaders and programs across WNY as a means to better support youth ministry and youth needs in the community.

 

JOY: Finally, we celebrate the gift of Joy in faith and community. We believe that faith should be an enriching and joyful experience, and we strive to create moments of delight, laughter, and celebration for our youth by; (drum roll)………………… HAVING FUN!
